Every specimen is the only one of its kind.
Thousands of glass beads, one needle, thirty to ninety hours.
Insect Insane is a collection of hand-beaded insects, each made without a pattern and never repeated. They are worn on coat lapels, dresses and bags — and no two have ever been alike.

Where it lands
Every piece has a strong brooch pin and a soft velvet back that will not damage fabric. Lighter than it looks.
Strongest on wool — a heavy coat or blazer holds the piece exactly where you place it, with no droop.
On a leather flap or a belt it becomes a mark rather than jewellery. The pin holds firmly even in thick hide.
On a blazer lapel it reads as restrained and precise; on a dress it carries the whole outfit. With finer fabric, always fasten through a double layer or add a small patch of cloth behind the pin.
It all began with a butterfly collection…
«Some materials find their way to me long before they take their final form.»
I was a little girl when my grandfather Herbert showed me the butterflies he had caught in the Far East. He noticed how enchanted I was and gave me the whole collection. From that moment the world of insects stayed with me. What inspires me is their endless variety, their unexpected forms, colours and textures. In my work, that childhood fascination meets a love of unusual materials.
I choose luxurious vintage and reclaimed fabrics and beads with care: Japanese Miyuki seed beads, silk, metal beads, velvet, lace. Every piece comes into being slowly — choosing materials in the right colours and embroidering the details one by one. In the end an insect is born. Not simply a piece of jewellery, but a small creature with its own character, colours and story. A new species, a single specimen, the only one in the world.
